All bat care for a new Garrard and Flack starts with good knocking in, knocking in is a crucial part of the preparation process of your cricket bat. We suggest you use a good quality mallet, spend around 30 minutes gently rounding off and compressing each face near the edge along with the toe area, this will help avoid small compression cracks developing during play, once you feel satisfied with your edge and toe areas you can then move into the middle of the blade, this area is always best knocked in with a cricket ball as this helps you get used to the bats pick up and balance, simple throw downs or catching practise is always a good idea.
We like to fit anti-scuff sheets onto our bats, but if you are a traditionalist that likes to oil your bats, we suggest you do so a couple of times before knocking in, If a face cover has been fitted, just add a light amount of oil to any uncovered areas of the bat, especially the toe area.
Garrard and Flack cricket bats are covered against manufacturing faults for 12 months from the date of purchase. Bats must be returned with a proof of purchase invoice, failure to adhere to Garrard and Flack bat care recommendations may affect your guarantee. If you believe that warranty applies to the damage of your bat, it must be returned to the respective retail store or Garrard and Flack workshop promptly, where an analysis of the damage will be made.
Warranty does not include the following, misuse, damaged edges or toe due to insufficient knocking in and preparation. In any case a replacement bat will carry the remaining warranty period only. We hope that you enjoy your Garrard and Flack and it improves your performance when out in the middle.
A customer holds the right to cancel your order or return the goods within 7 working days of when you received the good. To do this you have to email firstname.lastname@example.org within the 7 days. If the god are still in they're purchased state with all original packaging, we will give you a refund of your full purchase price, unfortunately delivery charges cannot be refunded. It is your responsibility to return the goods to us promptly and, if you are returning by post at your own cost.
